Herefordshire Art and Craft Society are very pleased that Gilbies Bar and Bistro are hosting art exhibitions for us again this year. From April to August , and in October and November, our members will be showing their work downstairs and in the mezzanine area. In September and December we will have special exhibitions linked to Herefordshire’s Art Weeks.

Charlotte Greenman is our featured artist for August.

Charlotte Greenman is showing some of her work at Gilbies throughout August. Charlotte is a mixed media artist using acrylics, tissue paper, beads, wire, wool and all sorts. Flowers and nature/landscape scenes are her favourites.
You can see examples of her work on her web site charlottegreenmanart.com, but for the best view go to Gilbies!

For the whole of September we will be showing work by 14 artists as part of Herefordshire Art Week, h.Art.

In December, the h.Art artists will return, with different artworks.

During October and November, other members will have their work on show. There will be special events during our h.Art months – more details later.

You’ll find Gilbies Bar & Bistro in the heart of Hereford city centre, tucked away behind the half-timbered Old House.

Owners Rob and Hayley (and their daughter) returned from Bristol to take on Gilbies as a new venture in their home town of Hereford. They serve everything from lunches and small plates with hand-picked wines, to hearty roasts and fresh coffee – and have created a relaxed environment for you to enjoy at any time of day.

Gilbies cater for a range of party sizes, and are delighted to have catered for a number of wedding parties, so please call to discuss bespoke menus in addition to the usual menus.

Herefordshire Art and Craft Society (HACS), founded in 1922, is approaching its centenary! Just as our founding days were a progressive time for the arts and crafts, so today they play an equally important role across an ever expanding breadth of media (from oil painting to digital art, from craftwork to keeping alive our artisan traditions).

HACS welcomes artists and craftspeople of any ability and stage of development. There are various benefits to membership in the society including the opportunity to take part in exhibitions throughout the year, and to attend lectures, workshops and social events, including a monthly coffee morning and evening meet-up.
